How To Create A Google Voice Number

Hey guys, Sam here. In this tutorial, I’m going to show you how to create a Google Voice number in Nigeria. It’s pretty quick and easy, so let’s jump right in!

You’ll need a Gmail account, a USA VPN connection, a USA phone number for OTP, and a web browser. 

This is a completely free option as long as you have a Google account. Let’s go to the app store or Google Play Store and type in “Voice” and hit search. You can download and install the Google Voice app, or you can open a web browser and go to voice.google.com.

In the top right corner of your screen, make sure you’re signed in to the specific Google account you want to assign the phone number to. Once you’ve done that, tap on the gear icon in the top right corner of the screen. It’ll say “I don’t currently have a Google Voice number,” so just hit “Get a number.”

Enter the specific location or area code you’re looking for, and you’ll see a bunch of different options. Choose any of the options, and it’ll say you need to verify it’s you. Hit “Verify,” and it’ll say you need to link your personal phone number. Enter your personal USA phone number and hit “Send code.” You’ll receive a code from Google on your personal phone number. If you don’t have a USA phone number, you can use a friend’s or family member’s. It’s pretty easy to remove the number, so you’ll never have to use it again. 

Enter the code and hit “Verify.” From there, you’ll be able to use the specific Google Voice phone number for calls or text messages. You can give out the number as a secondary phone number, use it for social media accounts, and all sorts of other stuff.
